FROM ANCESTRAL HANDS TO YOU.

Learn how our pieces are brought to life through heritage, craftsmanship, and conscious collaboration.

SONQO was born in the heart of the Andes — a place where time moves differently, where tradition is not preserved in museums, but lived, woven, and passed from one generation to the next.

Founded in 2016 by Jeannie, a self-taught Peruvian designer deeply connected to her roots, SONQO is a tribute to the richness of her culture and the hands that keep it alive. What began as a desire to honor ancestral craftsmanship has grown into a conscious brand that carries stories within every thread.

At SONQO, each piece is more than a garment — it is a meeting point. Between heritage and modernity. Between artisan and wearer. Between nature and design.

We work closely with Peruvian artisans and small workshops, co-creating pieces through hand knitting and traditional techniques that have been safeguarded for centuries. This collaboration is built on respect, fair trade, and the shared intention to preserve knowledge while creating meaningful opportunities for artisan communities.

Our materials are chosen with care and responsibility. Alpaca fiber, known for its softness and durability, and organic cotton, certified by global standards, connect us directly to the land. In many of our processes, we embrace natural dyes and low-impact practices, honoring the ecosystems that sustain us.

We believe in a slower, more conscious way of creating — one that values time, human connection, and the true cost of craftsmanship. Because to us, luxury is not excess, but intention.

SONQO is not only what we make, but what we stand for:

a deep respect for culture, a commitment to community, and a responsibility toward nature.

Each piece carries warmth.

Each piece carries history.

Each piece carries heart.

SONQO — From the heart.
